Panasonic announced 2 new compact camera models and a micro 4/3 Leica 100-400mm lens today.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100
The ZS100 features a 1 inch, 20 megapixel sensor and is capable of 4k video recording. The ZS100 features a 25mm-250mm (full-frame equivalent) f/2.9-5.9 Leica DC lens.
The camera also features post-focus, .1 second Light Speed Auto Focus, a 1166k-dot electronic view finder, rings for dials and manual settings, WiFi and QR code connectivity, 5 axis optical image stabilization, face/eye tracking auto focus, in-camera RAW processing, a 3-inch 1040k-dot touch screen, and panorama mode.
The ZS100 will be available in of March 2016
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS60
The Lumix DMC-ZS60 is a compact designed for the traveling photographer (probably due to its longer lens and lower price). It features, an 18mp CMOS sensor (1/2 inch) and is capable of 4k recording. It features a 24-720mm (full-frame equivalent) lens, post-focus, manual controls, dedicated control ring, electronic viewfinder, 5-axis optical image stabilization, contrast detection-based auto-focus, 10fps burst mode, face/eye tracking and wireless control.
The DMC-ZS60 will be available in mid-March 2016
The Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm f/4.0-6.3 ASPH
Interestingly, Panasonic released a lone zoom lens as well. This is a micro four thirds mount long zoom-lens with a full-frame equivallent of 200-800mm in a new lightwieght body. Its designed with 20 elements in 13 groups, 9-blade aperture, an enclosed build that is dust and rain proof, a tripod mount, integrated hood, 240fps auto-focus motor, zoom lock and powered image stabalization
It will be available in April of 2016 for $1,800
